ecoFridge

Three new semi-trailers and one rigid combination have been commissioned with the ecoFridge nitrogen system, for the Woolworths operation. The major benefit that will be derived from the system is the environmental impact of no carbon emissions and no noise pollution. The trailers are designed to maintain the three different temperature regimes in each trailer.

Euro 5

An agreement between Imperial Logistics, Mercedes Benz South Africa and Woolworths will see the importation of Euro 5 specification trucks into South Africa in the continued drive to be leading the logistics industry in environmental terms. Fuel efficiency and subsequent reduced carbon emissions will be substantially improved over the Euro 2 and 3 specification engines used by the majority of truck brands sold in South Africa.

Composite Trailers

Fast ‘n Fresh is replacing refrigerated trailers in their fleet with the latest technology composite trailers, benefiting from reduced tare weight and strengthened bodies.

Transport Management System (TMS)

Providing value added services to Blue Chip customers initiated the development of a detailed and integrated system that would benefit the information management of both Fast ‘n Fresh and their customers. The specification was user driven and software development was outsourced to a third party contractor. Six modules have been developed and implemented.

Trainees

Twelve staff members have recently commenced the second intake of employees chosen to experience The Management Development Programme. Our company has grown significantly and the leadership needs to delegate increasing responsibility to managers. These managers need to be equipped with relevant leadership knowledge and skills to implement strategy in
Fast ‘n Fresh.
